A Quick Overview of New Relic APM
So what is New Relic APM? For our purposes, the definition works:
New Relic APM is a web application that provides detailed insights into the performance of your WordPress site.
You install New Relic by adding a PHP extension. This extension listens for every request processed by PHP and then sends that information to the New Relic dashboard. New Relic then organizes the information into a series of charts and graphs that you can use to diagnose the website’s performance problem. It is important to note that New Relic is not supported on HHVM.

Transactions
The Transactions tab is the most useful tab in New Relic.
Learn to love the Transactions tab and you’ll be able to break down slow transactions to identify database calls from external resources, bottlenecks in code slowing down your site. Of particular interest within Transactions is to see the list of slow transactions. To see the list, scroll to the bottom of the Transactions tab and look at the bottom right of the page.
