The platform was on the rise but now

Short form videos, social commerce and the role of content creators… These are three of the six social media trends that will be discussed in 2024. But also the important role of AI, which we certainly cannot ignore for the coming year. What can we as marketing and communication professionals prepare for next year?

Almost a year ago, I published my article on this platform about the social media trends of 2023 . Predicting trends for social media is a dangerous business. The landscape can change drastically from one day to the next. That was clear again this year!

Who would have expected

Twitter to cease to exist and be called X? The platform was on the rise but now seems to have telegram number database  disappeared from the face of the earth. And yet I have to conclude that most of the developments from the 2023 article, in particular the accelerated growth of creatorship and short form video, have continued to develop nicely.

The only trend that has strangely lagged behind is TikTok marketing. I expected the definitive breakthrough of marketing on this fast-growing platform to be in 2023. However, that has only happened to a limited extent. Many brands are still somewhat reluctant to invest heavily in TikTok, especially in advertising. There is a lot of experimentation, that’s true. Maybe we should give it another year…?

2024 will again be full of changes and developments. When listing my expectations for the coming year, it immediately strikes me that in many cases it is about ‘continuing’ existing trends, or even accelerating them.

Sprout Social recently published

an interesting article discussing the Chief Marketing Officers’ (CMOs) social media marketing agenda for 2024. In which AI plays an school email list   important role. What can we expect in the coming year?

1. A revival of your own fan base
2. Creator content continues and becomes even more important
3. Short form video is the new standard

In recent years, the focus on social media has shifted from building a fan base to broader social  small ecommerce brands from every state (just in time for the fourth advertising. However, the fan base is coming back. Why? Because of the increasing importance of owned media , or platforms that you fully control. This development actually applies to the entire digital ecosystem.
