Extremely early flowering in Japan this year
Typically, cherry blossom season in the Japanese archipelago takes! place from late March in Kyushu (in southern Japan) to mid-May in Hokkaido (in northern Japan). The advance of the “blossom front” is regularly announc in the mia.
This year, cherry blossom has already begun in Tokyo, Kyoto and most regions south of Tokyo. For some cities (Figure 1), this is an extremely early start to the blossoming season, if not the earliest ever. For Tokyo, the advance on the average date is about 10 days.

This early cherry blossom is largely dependent on the temperatures since the beginning of the year. In February, the average temperatures in Japan were above normal, as shown in Figure 1 of the
global summary for the month of February
can be seen.
Temperatures were also high in March. In early south africa phone number library March, maximum temperatures were almost 10°C above normal. On March 22, new heat records for the month of March were record at at least 182 weather stations, which is 20% of the country’s stations. The city of Osaka, for example, experienc the earliest first day of summer (25°C or more) since measurements began 140 years ago. Such heat accelerates cherry blossoming.

Difference between beginning and full bloom in cherry trees
The cherry tree begins to bloom when 5-6 flowers recent obstacles to the domestic punishment of international crimes appear on it. The cherry tree is in full bloom when 80% of the tree is in bloom. A week can pass adb directory between the start of the bloom and the cherry trees being in full bloom (Figure 3). In Tokyo, we are currently in full bloom.

updat three times a day from December to June. This shows the importance of this forecast! Unfortunately, these pages are only in Japanese and you have to use a translator to decipher them.
And in Switzerland?
In Switzerland, cherry blossoms are not observ with quite the same enthusiasm as in Japan. Nevertheless, the blossoming of a wild cherry tree on the ge of the forest in Liestal/BL has been record since 1894.
The earliest date for the start of cherry blossom in was March 16, 1990. In 2020, it occurr on March 17, and last year on March 26. Until the end of the 1980s, the average was mid-April.
Currently, the start of the cherry blossom season is imminent. However, the cold snap forecast for next Sunday to Tuesday could delay the start of the blossoming season by a few days.
