A variation of Shrubb
After making the basic shrubb, I really wanted to make a new one, but without following the usual recipes you can find on the web. I wanted to find my own recipe. And we see that now.
My encounter with the Shrubb!
If you haven’t already read it, I recommend reading my article on the original Shrubb with only the orange peel maceration.
I really liked this recipe, certainly special lead very simple, but delicious and powerful in orange.
I wanted to develop it and experiment to arrive at another result that could be just as interesting.
That’s when I came up with the idea of replacing the sugar. I didn’t want to add any sugar to this recipe, but I still wanted to have a little treat. So I thought of replacing the sugar with dried fruit.
I also wanted to add some spice
but I didn’t want to follow what different formats are used most home cooks do and add cinnamon. I replaced it with lemongrass.
I kept 2 cloves and added an extra fruit with a passion fruit. Maybe a little overripe, I think, but still very fruity.
So this recipe is again a test.
I said it, I loved the first one and I america email wanted to make a new arrangement, using shrubb as a base.
I wanted a rum that was fully orange-forward, but which could develop subtleties and a little complexity.
So the orange peel had to always be in the foreground.
